ABOUT THE FUN RUN
What is the Fun Run?
The Fun Run is Mitchell Elementary PTA’s annual school-wide fundraiser and a fun event where students run, celebrate, and help raise money to support our school.
When is the Fun Run event?
Fun Run Day is Friday, November 6, 2026.
When does fundraising begin?
Fundraising officially kicks off with our Run Wild Pep Rally on Friday, October 2 and continues through the weeks leading up to Fun Run Day.
What is our fundraising goal?
Our school-wide goal is $50,000!
REGISTRATION & DONATIONS
How do I register my student?
Parents will register their student through our online Fun Run fundraising site. Find your child’s classroom and select “Join the Team.”
Do I need a different email address for each child?
Nope! Families with multiple Mitchell students can register all of their children using the same parent email address.
Do I have to use my child’s full name?
No. Because fundraising pages are public, families are welcome to use their student’s first name and last initial.
Do I have to upload a photo of my child?
No. Adding a photo is completely optional.
How can friends and family donate?
Once your student is registered, they’ll have a unique fundraising link that you can share with family and friends by text, email, or social media.
Can I donate via check or cash?
We prefer to keep donations digital, but cash and checks can also be accepted. Please place the donation in an envelope labeled with your child’s name and teacher’s name.
Does my student have to collect money door-to-door?
No. We encourage families to share their student’s fundraising page with people they already know rather than having students solicit donations from strangers.
Can a family make a donation without creating a student fundraising page?
Yes. General donations to support the Fun Run are welcome too! Just click “Donate” on the fundraising page.
PRIZES & COMPETITION
Does my child have to raise money to participate in the Fun Run?
No. Every Mitchell student gets to participate in Fun Run Day regardless of how much they raise.
Are there prizes for fundraising?
Yes! Students can earn prizes as they reach different fundraising levels.
What happens when my student raises $250?
Students who reach the $250 level can have their family name printed on the back of the official Fun Run shirt, along with the other prizes included at that level.
Is there a deadline to have our family name printed on the Fun Run shirt?
Yes. Qualifying donations must be received by October 16, 2026 for the family name to be included on the shirt. There is a limit of 20 characters.
Is there a classroom competition?
Yes! Classes will be able to follow their fundraising progress and compete as part of the school-wide Fun Run excitement.
How will classroom fundraising be compared if classes have different numbers of students?
Classroom fundraising will be compared using the average amount raised per student, helping account for differences in class size.
SPONSORS
Can businesses sponsor the Fun Run?
Yes! We have several Fun Run sponsorship opportunities available for local businesses and community partners, including opportunities connected to student prizes and Fun Run materials.
Can a business sponsor or donate an item instead of making a traditional donation?
Yes! We have specific items available for sponsorship. Businesses interested in sponsoring an item should contact the PTA for current availability and deadlines.
FUN RUN DAY
Where does the money raised go?
Fun Run proceeds support the Mitchell Elementary PTA and the programs, resources, events, and opportunities we provide for Mitchell students and our school community.
What should my child wear on Fun Run Day?
Students should wear comfortable, school-appropriate clothing and shoes suitable for running and physical activity. More specific Fun Run Day instructions will be shared closer to the event.
What happens if it rains on Fun Run Day?
Any weather-related changes or alternate plans will be communicated to families if necessary.
Can parents volunteer for Fun Run Day?
Yes! Volunteer opportunities and sign-up information will be shared as we get closer to the event.
